Fintan Smyth, MIFireE, RIAI (Arch Tech) is the Building Physics Manager at Saint-Gobain Construction Products, specialising in fire engineering, sustainable design, and building science. With over 30 years of experience, he leads the technical department, focusing on architectural practice, conservation, sustainability, fire safety, thermal performance, and acoustics.
Throughout his career, Fintan has contributed to commercial, residential, and conservation projects, integrating fire safety with sustainability principles such as passive house and low-carbon construction. He actively promotes best practice among construction professionals and policymakers.
An Architectural Technologist with an MSc in Architecture, Fintan is dedicated to advancing fire-safe, high-performance, and sustainable buildings through education and innovation, helping to shape the future of safe and resilient built environments.
