About the Speaker

Dr Patrick Okolo, PhD, M.Eng, B.Eng, CEng MIEI, MIFireE
Dr. Patrick Okolo is a Chartered Engineer, Fire Safety Engineering Consultant, and a CFD/FEA Specialist. Over the past 15 years, he has applied and managed CFD-FEA modelling assessments for over 250 high-value projects, delivering solutions for commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure developments.

He holds a PhD in Engineering, is a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE) and has a proven track record in applying Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and thermal modelling to performance-based building and fire safety designs.

He is a consultant contractor at FRC, and is also the Director of a specialist consultancy company focused on CFD-based fire engineering and building physics, where he leads the design, assessment, and optimisation of smoke control systems, structural fire performance, evacuation strategies, and energy-efficient façades.

He was a contributor to the Smoke Control Association (SCA) Guide on CFD Analysis for Smoke Control Design In Buildings, the first UK industry guidance on the application of CFD analysis to smoke control ventilation systems in buildings. Dr. Patrick Okolo has also made significant academic contributions in engineering, having co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles in the fields of CFD for engineering applications and is currently a visiting engineering lecturer at Oxford Brookes University where he also mentors/supervises undergraduate and post-graduate degree students.
