Engineering Council registration


Professional registration demonstrates to your employers and clients that your competence has been independently assessed and verified, and that you have made a commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD). It proves your attributes and capabilities, with internationally-recognised post-nominals that support your personal progression. The IFE is licensed by the Engineering Council, which is the regulatory body for the engineering profession in the UK and which sets the standards and ethics required for each of the titles below.

Chartered Engineer

A Chartered Engineer develops solutions using new or existing technologies, through innovation, creativity and technical analysis. They may be accountable for systems with significant levels of risk.

The IFE is licensed by the Engineering Council which is the UK regulatory body for the engineering profession. The Engineering Council sets and maintains the internationally recognised standards of professional competence and ethics that govern the award and retention of these titles. Professional registration provides a benchmark through which the public, employers and their clients can have confidence and trust that registered engineers and technicians have met globally recognised professional standards. Achieving professional registration shows your competence, credibility, and commercial professionalism.
