What attracted you to this course?

Safety science and engineering may improve society by creating ways and technologies to protect people and their environments. It incorporates engineering, health sciences, environmental science, management, and more. This appeals to those with diverse interests. It also provides the satisfaction of knowing one’s work protects others. 

How did you first learn about the Institution of Fire Engineers?

I learned about the institution through my own research.

What are you hoping to get out of your IFE membership?

Networking possibilities with other industry professionals, access to the most recent research and best practices, professional recognition, and chances for continuing
education and professional development can all be obtained via joining the IFE. Additionally, it can provide a platform for contributing to the fire engineering and prevention field and the more significant industry.

What difference has being a student member of the IFE had on you?

As a member, I have access to a plethora of knowledge, including cutting-edge research, case studies, and technical advice that has been helpful in my studies and beyond. I also have the opportunity to get to know students who are members and have the chance of meeting other industry experts. These connections present prospects for employment, mentoring, and advice. Becoming a member of a reputable professional organisation, such as the IFE, gives my resume more gravitas and
shows a genuine dedication to the field. The experiences and information obtained through being a student member can be helpful when beginning a career since
companies frequently look favourably at individuals who have been proactive about their professional growth.

Would you recommend joining the IFE as a Student Member to others? 

Yes, IFE membership offers chances for further professional growth. Getting involved with a professional organisation like the IFE can allow you to get to know and interact with other people in the industry, which can be extremely helpful for future career prospects. IFE membership can show prospective employers that a person is dedicated to their professional career development.

What is your favourite thing about your IFE membership?

Having access to the latest research, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing through seminars, webinars, and publications. You can learn new skills and understand new ideas. It also lends credibility and shows devotion to the profession.
