Angela is an accomplished fire engineer with nearly a decade of experience in roles spanning sectors including airports, industrial facilities, and correctional institutions. She has contributed to large-scale and complex projects, ensuring fire safety solutions are integrated seamlessly from design through to completion.
A prominent figure within the IFE throughout Australasia, Angela has served on the IFE New Zealand branch board prior to her current role as Vice President of the IFE Australia branch. She is dedicated to promoting knowledge-sharing, professional development, and collaboration across the global fire safety community, and is actively involved in initiatives that support the growth and recognition of fire professionals. Angela’s passion for fire engineering stems from her early understanding of the devastating impacts of fire, driving her commitment to improving fire safety standards and practices. Through her work with the IFE, she continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of fire engineers, helping to shape the future of the profession.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Engineering Studies in Fire Engineering from the University of Canterbury. Throughout her career, she has focused on advanced fire engineering techniques such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for fire and smoke modelling and agent-based evacuation modelling, excelling in both prescriptive and performance-based design.
