Fire Safety Event 2024

This years’ instalment of the Fire Safety Event was the busiest yet, and with a fantastic agenda to combat the current uncertainty across the sector, it certainly didn’t disappoint. As event season kicks off, the team look forward to fostering new connections and reinforcing existing ones at a most significant time for those in fire.

Fire safety space for Responsible Persons

As Responsible Persons (RPs) grapple with heightened obligations, we had a lot of discussions with those that are now looking for introductory guidance and help with legislative navigation. Our technical team are working on roadmaps that outline actionable steps towards compliance that serve as clarity to equip professionals with the resources they need to succeed and comply.

The 3-day programme hosted diverse sessions on a range of topics, including "Preparing Building Safety Cases for the Real World," which delved into the practicalities of ensuring building safety in real-world scenarios. Another highlight was the exploration of "Evolving 3rd Party Certification Schemes to Embrace the Golden Thread," shedding light on the importance of adapting certification schemes to align with the principles of the Golden Thread and enhance overall safety measures. “From codes to courtrooms: The latest in Fire Safety Legislation" provided an overview of the ever-evolving landscape of fire safety legislation, offering attendees valuable insights into navigating legal complexities.

The future of Fire Risk Assessment

Our Technical Director, Paul Trew, fronted a session that captured the essence of our evolving landscape: 'The future of risk assessment in high-risk premises.' The huge attendance underscored the significance of addressing emerging challenges head-on. Paul's session illuminated pathways towards more robust risk assessment methodologies, echoing our commitment to staying ahead of the curve. Joseph Lester, Policy Manager for Fire Risk Assessor competency and capacity in Fire Safety Unit for the Home Office, was present at the session and reaffirmed the pivotal role of industry leaders like the IFE in steering the course towards a seamless transition. His assurance, coupled with the collective resolve of attendees was a fantastic space that showcased that collective strength and resilience is the only way to ride the uncertainty.

We look forward to connecting with more of you in the coming months and we will be reaching out to delegates who engaged with us at the stand. We’d also like to extend a congratulations to the team at Nineteen Group, who have since announced the expansion of its multi-award-winning event, The Emergency Services Show, alongside The Safety & Security Event Series, into the Asia-Pacific region, located in Singapore.
